Al and Debbie Huss

Al and Debby met as young teens at the Delaware beach, were long distance high school sweethearts, and were married in June 1972. During their over 43 years together, they have experienced the manifold grace of God in preserving and growing their lifelong mutual commitment. While neither grew up in a Christian home, God was faithful to draw both Al and Debby to Himself. Debby committed her life to Christ as a child at Christian camp while Al did not come to accept God’s wondrous gift of redemption until thirty years of age.

Al has been privileged to serve the Lord in two very different venues–for 12 years as New Testament Professor at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary and over 25 years as a gospel witness in assorted corporate settings. In recent years, his extensive travel has provided extraordinary ministry opportunities for sowing gospel seeds. He has also taught multiple ABF classes and has served in a variety of local church ministries, including the pioneering work of two church plants. His two tracts of formal training involved chemical engineering degrees from the University of Delaware and University of Illinois and theological training at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Al is passionate about the calling of all believers to shine forth the light of the gospel.

As a fulltime wife, mom, and grandma, Debby loves to use her sewing, knitting, and other homemaking skills to spoil her grandchildren and to serve others. She loves children and has faithfully served the Lord for over 40 years as a Sunday school teacher and in other Christian school and local church ministries. She is also known as an avid Phillies fan. Al and Debby enjoy spending time with their three sons and their families, including five grandchildren (plus a sixth due in January).

Al and Debby remain truly best friends and especially enjoy spending time together–whether through an amazing 40th anniversary celebration in Hawaii or the routine of daily life..
